ABOUT ME!


Yoojin Lee, mezzo-soprano, is a Korean-born artist recognized for her rich vocal color, expressive storytelling, and captivating stage presence. Passionate about bringing characters to life through music, she has performed with opera companies and artistic organizations throughout the United States.
Most recently, Lee returned to Opera Lab in May 2025 and continued her collaborations with the American Opera Project, where she has appeared in productions and workshops in 2018, 2024, and 2025. Her work reflects a commitment to both traditional operatic repertoire and the development of new works.
A sought-after interpreter of Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Lee performed the role with Amelia Island Opera in April 2025, following appearances with Boheme Opera in 2023 and her role debut with Long Island Lyric Opera in 2019. She also covered the role of Lady Murasaki in Murasaki’s Moon with On Site Opera, further expanding her experience in contemporary opera.
Lee was a member of Virginia Opera’s prestigious Herndon Foundation Emerging Artists Program during the 2018–2019 season and appeared in New York City Opera’s Bryant Park Concert Series. Her training includes the Caramoor Festival Young Artist Program and Prelude to Performance with the Martina Arroyo Foundation.
She holds a Master of Music degree and a Professional Studies Diploma from Mannes College of Music in New York City.
Whether performing beloved operatic roles or helping bring new works to the stage, Lee is dedicated to creating meaningful musical experiences that connect with audiences through honesty, warmth, and dramatic depth.
